For emergency departments
The monthly roster, solved — not negotiated.
ER Shift Scheduler builds your department's monthly schedule with a constraint solver. Rest rules and contract hours are enforced, nights and holidays balance out over twelve months, and every doctor sees their shifts on their phone.
How it schedules
Constraints first, preferences second, fairness always.
Labor rules are hard limits
Post-night rest, maximum consecutive hours, nights per month, contract windows — the solver treats medical labor law as non-negotiable. A schedule that breaks a rule is never produced, no matter how convenient it would be.
Fair over twelve months
A rolling fairness ledger records every night and holiday each doctor works. Whoever carried New Year's Eve is remembered next December. Balance is measured across the year, not eyeballed month by month.
Feasibility before you solve
Before generating anything, the app compares demand against your pool — contracted hours, night capacity, station competencies, leaves — and tells you if the month is short-staffed and by how many doctors.
Where your data lives
On your machine, encrypted. Nowhere else by default.
Encrypted local database
Roster data is stored in an AES-256 encrypted database on the scheduler's computer. The key never leaves the system keychain.
No account, no telemetry
There is no sign-up, no cloud sync and no analytics. The app works fully offline — generate and edit schedules without a connection.
Signed publications
When you share a schedule to doctors' phones, it is cryptographically signed. The mobile app verifies the signature and refuses anything tampered with.
You choose what leaves
Sharing to mobile is opt-in and sends only the published schedule — names, shifts, dates. Everything else stays local. Details in the privacy policy.
For doctors
The whole department's month, in every pocket.
Doctors get a companion app for iPhone and Android: their personal schedule, who's on shift today, and a push notification the moment a new roster is published. Time-off requests go straight from the phone to the scheduler's desk, and when a published month changes, each doctor sees exactly which of their own shifts moved.
Stop solving the roster by hand.
Free for macOS and Windows. Public release coming soon.
